Culture Night at Ricarda-Huch-Schule Gießen
Sprachenmehr recently had the pleasure of representing our community at the Culture Night hosted by the Ricarda-Huch-Schule in Gießen. It was an evening full of energy, curiosity, and connection.
At our stall, we invited students and teachers to do something simple yet powerful: share how many languages they speak, and then reveal their favourite — or least favourite — word from any of those languages.
The response was wonderful. People lit up. Languages poured in from all corners of the room, and conversations sparked naturally around words that delighted, puzzled, or even annoyed their speakers.
By the end of the evening, over 15 students and teachers had put pen to paper, documenting their linguistic loves and pet peeves. It was a small exercise with a big message — language is personal, playful, and deeply human.
We look forward to more such moments of exchange!
